Amerisleep Mattress Firmness And Feel
The topic of firmness has been mentioned a few times. There are many mattresses that can be described as firm. Amerisleep mattress is distinguished by its broad range of firmness options. Let’s discuss the level of firmness of each Amerisleep mattress as well as how they feel.
How Firm Are Amerisleep Mattresses?
Every Amerisleep mattress is firm in its unique way. The Amerisleep AS1 is a stiffer-than-average mattress with an 8/10 rating that is on the firmer side of the scale. AS2 AS2 is the next-softest model; it is 7.5/10 however it is heavier than average. With an average of 6.5/10 The Amerisleep AS3 is right in the middle of the range of firmness. This is because the Amerisleep AS4 and AS5 have the distinction of being the 2 softer versions after that. The AS4 is less than average, at 6/10, and the AS5 is less abrasive than average at 5.5/10.
Having said that, the quality of these mattresses will be dependent on your weight and height. On the other side, they may feel firmer when you press deeper into the mattress and reach the support layers if are heavier. If you are a lighter person, though you might find that these mattresses are substantially soft.
Sleeping On The Amerisleep Mattresses
I spent a significant amount of time on each of the five mattresses, evaluating their sleeping positions in various ways. It is evident that they did not perform the same way!
As one of the more firm mattresses in the Amerisleep series The AS1 might be too hard for back sleepers. The support is excellent however, there isn’t a comfort layer thick enough to allow our hips to fully sink into it. We were dissatisfied. If you sleep on your back, need your hips to sink for a bit in order to maintain your spine in a neutral position as you rest.
When we sleep on our backs and sleep on our backs, we experience a lot of pressure on our shoulders and hips due to the AS1. We’ll have a look at the softer variants in a second and discover how they relieve the stress.
The Amerisleep AS1 really shines when you sleep on your stomachs. People who sleep on their stomachs should have mattresses that provide the hips with support. If your hips aren’t properly support, their spine may be pulled out of alignment. Amerisleep AS1 has adequate spinal support and this shouldn’t be a concern.SHOP AMERISLEEP
Because the AS2 is less abrasive than the AS1 and AS1, we can enjoy more comfort and support when we sleep on our backs. Our hips are properly bowed and the top foam layers are pressing into the lumbar area.
The AS2 isn’t firm enough for side sleepers; we drive into the mattress, and we feel like it is coiled over our hips and shoulders. After a few nights, we could see this is causing significant discomfort and discomfort.
There is a bit of support in our hips when sleep on stomachs on Amerisleep AS2. If, however, you sleep on your stomach and you do not want to sleep on your stomach, you’ll find that the Amerisleep AS1 is the best option to go.SHOP AMERISLEEP
A medium-firm mattress such as that of the Amerisleep AS3 is ideal for back sleepers. It’s not surprising that the AS3 is among our top options for those who sleep on their backs. The Bio-Pur foam layer on top gives some contouring for our body contours, while also keeping us in the right position. It’s among the best pillows for sleepers with backaches in the Amerisleep varieties.
There is almost no stress on my shoulders or hips when I lie on my side with AS3. AS3. This larger layer of Bio-Pur foam is actually cushioning our joints, which is different from the previous experiences we had with AS1 as well as AS2.
In our belly the Bio-Pur foam layer does us no favours. When it comes to pressure reduction, it’s incredible however, we’re not getting enough support for our hips.SHOP AMERISLEEP
We’re currently on the verge of a mattress that’s soft. Since it’s the AS4 mattress is Amerisleep’s second most flexible, we’re getting less support when we lie with our backs. Lumbar support is lacking, and we’re sinking into the mattress a little.
The Amerisleep AS4 mattress performs best when used on the side. We’re sinking into the mattress due to a massive 4-inch Bio-Pur, and our shoulders and hips are feeling almost no strain.
In the case of stomach sleeping mattresses that are good for side sleeping isn’t ideal. The Amerisleep AS5 is no exception and does not provide us with the help we need.SHOP AMERISLEEP
There’s a layer of Active Flex in the Amerisleep AS5, which is their most soft and luxurious model. As a result, we experience additional support for our necks and shoulders while lying on our backs.
The AS5 is an excellent choice for people who prefer sleeping on their side because it is the softest mattress. The burden of the world is absorbed as we sink to the soft comfort layers.
For stomach sleepers, the A5 does not provide enough support, even when using its Active Flex foam. When we sleep in a back position, we like sleeping on our backs, we prefer the Amerisleep AS1 and AS2.SHOP AMERISLEEP
What Is the Feel of the Amerisleep Mattress?
The foam used in the majority of Amerisleep mattresses is similar in feel and is both soft and firm at same simultaneously. Even though we do sink quite in the middle when lying on these mattresses, we’re having no problem moving about in any way. The Bio-Pur foam that is used in each of these five mattresses differs, and we sink more into the soft mattresses more. Check out our Amerisleep comparison against Tuft and Needle comparison to find out how they compare against a different mattress that is responsive. Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lbs- 230 lbs
The Amerisleep AS3 offers the most convenience and comfort for average-weight back sleepers. The AS2 is the best choice for those who require extra support. If you fall between those between the AS4 as well as AS5 the weight categories, then you should consider the AS4. The Amerisleep AS1 mattress is the most comfortable mattress for stomach sleepers within the AS4 and AS5 weight categories!
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lbs
AS1 or the AS1 or AS2 from Amerisleep is the ideal choice for heavier persons who prefer to lie on their backs and sleep on a more firm mattress. As for the AS3, AS4, and AS5 might not be able to withstand their heavier weight. They are the Amerisleep AS4 or AS5 is recommended for those who weigh more and prefer to lie on their backs. The Amerisleep AS5 is a better option for people who weigh over 300 pounds. Even if they are planning to sleep with stomachs, the AS1 is their best option however their size could cause it to be insufficient.
Lightweight Sleepers- Under 130 lbs
Light back sleepers require mattresses that aren’t overly firm, as this will keep their hips from sinking completely into the mattress. The best choice is to purchase either of two Amerisleep AS3 models or the Amerisleep AS4 (if they prefer something more supple). AS3, AS3, AS4, and AS5 are the best options for pressure relief for side sleepers due to its modest weight, but the AS5’s additional features may not be necessary for these sleepers. They’ll get the support they need on either AS1 or AS2 when they’re sleeping.
Amerisleep Mattress Construction
There are some similarities among the Amerisleep mattresses, for instance the use of a lot of the similar materials. Regarding the comfort layers there are some noticeable variations.
There is a permeable covering on this Amerisleep AS1 mattress, as there is on all the Amerisleep mattresses. Bio-Pur Foam, a substance present on the top of all Amerisleep mattresses, covers that top 2″ of mattress’s comfort layer. A plant-based, breathable foam that’s more comfortable and responsive than traditional memory foam is what we’re calling this innovative material. It’s more environmentally friendly than many mattress foams because it’s open-celled. Bio-Core foam is 8 inches thick, provides additional support for the mattress.
In terms of size in terms of height, in terms of height, the Amerisleep AS2 measures in at 12 inches, similar to the other models. As with the AS1 it also has two inches of Bio-Pur foam the top. The 3″ of HIVE transition layer are also included below to provide extra support and comfort different areas of the bed. Bio-Core foam is the material used in the support layer of 7 inches.
It has 3″ thick layer of Bio-Pur foam on the top of the Amerisleep’s comfort layer, and the mattress is 12″ tall. In addition to the AS3, you get an inch more. The HIVE transition layer is 2” thick instead of the 3” thickness. Finally, a 7-inch Bio-Core foam layer completes this support layer.
In addition to being 12 inches tall in addition, the Amerisleep AS4 offers the same air-tight cover! Do you notice an emerging pattern? In comparison to the Amerisleep AS3, the Bio-Pur foam top layer is much more thick (it is 4” thick!). Only 1” of it is HIVE Transition foam, and seven” of Bio-Core foam comprise the bottom layer of the mattress.
The Amerisleep AS5 has a 14-inch thick cover, and you’ll know what it is. There’s a good chance it’s similar to the rest of the mattresses you can find in the stores. Bio-Pur foam is sandwiched between layers of distinct AS5 foam. Soft and springy Active Flex is used in the construction of this 2-inch piece. All Amerisleep mattresses come with a 7-inch Bio-Core foam base.

Amerisleep Mattress Performance
Let’s see how the Amerisleep mattresses do! See how they did with regards to cooling, motion transfer and edge support. Read on.
Sleeping Hot Or Cold
Based on our experience, Amerisleep mattresses do not cause excessive heat when you sleep. The Bio-Pur foam is created so that the mattress remains cool which we have mentioned earlier. When you sleep with Amerisleep mattresses, you should not overheat like you do with other mattresses.
Latex and coil mattresses are great for keeping you cool at night if you have a major problem with excessive heat. Hybrid mattresses are excellent for those who sleep hot because they’re more air-conditioned.
Although they’re more responsive than other mattresses mattress brands, they have a low motion transfer coefficient. As a result of the Bio-Pur foam’s motion isolation and motion isolation, if you are sleeping with a companion their movements shouldn’t be disruptive to the mattress.
The more dense Bio-Pur foam layers that are on the AS3 and AS4 make them perfect for couples looking for the greatest mattress.
Edge support is different among Amerisleep mattresses. The mattresses that are more firm allowed us to feel more at ease sitting or sleeping on the edge of them (the AS1 and AS2). We feel less support for the edges especially when lying down, after upgrading to the more soft models.
All of Amerisleep’s mattresses are made from high-density materials and are constructed to last. As a result we believe that the mattress will last 7 to 10 years, at very least.
The Amerisleep mattresses do show some initial off-gassing, but this is normal given the fact that they’re delivered in a box. If you purchase a mattress online that contains chemicals, the smell should disappear within 48 hours.
When we roll around on our Amerisleep mattresses and sleep, they do not produce noticeable sound. This means that you won’t hear your spouse’s movements throughout the house during the late at night.
Mattresses from Amerisleep are more flexible, which could make them suitable for sex, as per this review. But, if you’re using the AS4 or AS5, you may sink deeper and experience a more difficult time getting your partner to move around.
All Amerisleep mattresses are covered by a 100-night trial and a 20-year warranty.
Amerisleep Hybrid Mattress Review
In addition to Amerisleep’s popular all-foam mattresses, the company has now introduced hybrid models. Amerisleep’s AS3 Hybrid product is an hybrid version of the all-foam AS3 model and we’re here to talk about our experience with it.
The support layers make up the key distinction between these two models. AS3 Hybrid has zoned pocketed coils, while AS3 all-foam has a foundation polyfoam base. But, as with the AS3’s all foam counterpart it is also available in it’s AS3 Hybrid features Bio-Pur foam over the top.
The AS3 Hybrid’s coils offer it additional support than the AS3 mattress’s all-foam counterpart. This means it could be a better choice for heavier individuals who require additional support. The AS3 Hybrid mattress has a better ventilation due to the coils. This makes it a cooler mattress in general. If you’re looking for a cost it is the AS3 Hybrid mattress is going cost around 200 dollars more expensive than AS3 all-foam mattress.
The Amerisleep all-foam mattresses are the best option for those on a tight budget or are at the lighter end in the range. In the event that you’re heavier or need an item that’s more permeable then the Amerisleep hybrid models are the ideal choice.
